Week 1:
14 to-dos: 11 completed 3 progress made 0 untouched
I’d love to say I was able to get all of my goals for this week done early, but I ended up needing a lot of my day today (Saturday) to get many things done. I did get a lot of things started on Sunday since I was so excited to start tackling my goals.
This week was also an odd one to start with since I had Sunday – Tuesday off and then worked Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday without my usual hours due to figuring out alternative childcare.
One of my goals for the year is to go walking for at least 90 minutes a week. I enjoyed coming up with different ways to make it happen this week. Monday, we went to get our car’s oil changed and decided to all go for a walk while we waited for the car. I strapped on my baby carrier and carried our 6 month old and my husband ended up carrying out 3 year old.
Along the way we found a little park to explore. Instead of finding a bench and sitting, I kept my walking app open and kept going, making loops around the park. My husband and 3 year old ran and played hide and go seek. We then made it to a comic book shop and finished at a crepe place while we waited for the car to finish.
Another fun walk was on taking a little break from work just walking around the sidewalks around there. I started out on my own, but had sent a text to my husband who was also unbeknownst to me, out for a walk. Halfway through my walk we were able to meet up and walk together for a little bit. I appreciated getting to have a few kiddo free moments for us to just get to be together.
Having the goal of walking for 90 minutes got me to think outside of the box and pushed me to do something I wouldn’t normally. It was helpful to me to be able to break up my goal throughout the week as well. Finding 90 minutes to go for a walk and having the stamina right off the bat wasn’t something that was in my wheelhouse this week. I’m hoping getting off to a good start with my walking goal will help me in the upcoming weeks.
