Cheerleading Problem-solver

Week 10

11 to-dos: 8 completed 2 progress made 1 untouched

This week I was able to tackle my yoga goal throughly! While starting a 30 day challenge helped a bit, the biggest help was my husband.

I have three accountability partners – one is my friend Tonni, who checks in on my progress and also draws attention to things when I begin to neglect them. I treat this blog as another one- reporting the progress and then discussing what worked and what didn’t.

The third is my husband, who is my cheerleader and often times my problem- solver. I discuss what goals I want to achieve with him and what I need to do to make them happen. Now this is especially important as we are raising a 3 year old and a now 9 month old baby. And sometimes my goals mean I need to have some time to myself.

But more often than not, he’s the one I go to when I’m frustrated and can’t see the path through or around the obstacles. This is exactly what happened when I went to him in frustration of weekly falling short in my yoga goal. His response? “Let’s try to do yoga together as a family.” He was willing to jump in and see if we could do it all together.

This led to him suggesting us all to do yoga in times it wasn’t even on my radar, and probably making actually happen that day. One of my favorite times was when we ended up doing yoga together after being in the car for two hours after a wonderful weekend getaway which was a great way to get the kinks of a drive out. I also just really enjoy the time with him and our kids. (Even when our down dogs are challenged with crawling kids thinking we make excellent tunnels!)

Accountability partners are important, and make sure you have more than one. There are many different styles, but make sure one of them is able to help you problem solve and that someone is cheering you on your journey.
