“Mama said”

Week 3:

13 to-dos: 8 completed 3 progress made 2 untouched

My hope was after a week where I didn’t feel as successful, that I would turn it around and have an amazing week completing goals right and left. Instead, I found myself procrastinating and stressing about not getting everything done.

Hindsight tells me that this week I just bit off more than I could chew. We had 3 different birthday events this week as well as potty training the 3 year old. Add to that the unexpected bad cold for the 7 month old and one of my most productive days of the week turned into me being a mattress for a sick sleepy baby. I just had too many tasks to tackle and instead of my goals helping me to feel accomplished- they turned into millstones.

I even struggled trying to figure out what I wanted to write- and the song “Mama said there’d be days like this” came to my head. It helped me to breath and remember that there will be crazy weeks! I just need to embrace the wonderful fun moments like getting to celebrate some pretty awesome people in my life and having some sweet moments with my family.

I was also able to accomplish some of my goals – meal planning helped make a crazy week go a little smoother! I also walked my 45 minutes this week even though it rained. I did find I missed out on my yoga sessions and that cramming 90 minutes into Saturday isn’t practical for my time or my body. Budgeting also got pushed back this week and will be another goal for next week, but we’ll tackle it!

My takeaway lesson from this week is to give myself manageable goals based on what the week has planned and also to not leave so much to do for Saturday – it only has so many hours!
