Getting Back on the Horse

I’ve started this post at least ten times in my head. For some reason, picking back up a goal, project, or task grows exponentially harder the more time passes. It’s easy to think, oh well it’s just one more day or one more week and then I’ll get back to it. But each time I put something off, it makes it that much easier to put it off again.

It’s a bit like that old saying about getting back on the horse again. Being thrown from a horse can range from terrifying to painful. Then looking up from the ground up to the large animal that put you there makes getting back on seem even harder. (I actually have been thrown a few times and can attest to this!)

When you don’t get back on right away whether from injury, pride or fear, the idea of getting back on grows more daunting and more frightening. So sometimes, you’ve just got to grab the saddle, the reins and hop back up. The more times you push yourself the easier it is.

So this is me hoping back on my goal of blogging and working on self improvement. Taking a deep breath, making the time to do it and just hoping on. What horse do you need to get back on?
